What a Wonderful Life!

The last two weekends at our house have been great! Usually my husband (Jerrod) has to work at some over the weekend, meaning we hardley ever get to spend a whole weekend playing with Daddy. The past two weekends however he has been home and we have had great fun just playing around the house. The weather is starting to warm up here in Huntsville which means we have spent the days playing outside and working in the yard and the evenings around the charcoal grill. My daughter is a bit of an independent weasel, so she plays well by herself most of the time. My husband and I get to sit around enjoying each others company while watching our girl play and I get to do lots of KNITTING! I have just finished the vest portion of my daughters sweater. It is from a pattern that I found on Lionbrand.com. Just a basic hooded cardigan done in a beautiful dark brown they call coffee. I have decided to leave off the hood so that means that now that I have the "vest" portion assembled and all my ends woven in there I just have to make two sleeves...Shouldn't be that hard right I mean it is just a circle. As I said before I haven't been knitting all that long, and while I have circular needles that I actually prefer to use over straight needles I have yet to actually knit anything "in the round". Since these sleeves are so small, only 5 inches at the wrist opening I am thinking that maybe I should try using Double Pointed Needles "DPNS". One more problem, I don't have any DPNS. That is easy enough to fix with a quick run to the craft store and just maybe I will be able to navigate all 8 points without stabbing myself or loosing needles. I guess we shall see. I spent most of yesterday weaving in my ends on the sweater and baking bread...yumm. Sounds like Miss Laura would like another piece of bread so I guess I better go and serve the princess. Maybe she will feel like going shopping this afternoon so I can begin to tackle these sleeves.
